Mission:
GREEN MACHINE vs. Sydenham (GMvS) is an environmental clean-up initiative based out of Sydenham High School. Currently, the scope of the project is once-a-week garbage pickup in areas frequented by students. That is, school property, McLellan Field, and The Point. The concept functions from a weekly volunteer commitment of roughly an hour. Students working towards completing their 40 Hours Community Service will be attracted through fair hours compensation. Basically, it pays to help clean up the community.
The operating principle is that of minimal and independent organization. That is, clear and simple goals which can be accomplished easily. So, this applies well to our goal of picking up garbage. Additional challenge comes through promotion of a No-Litter lifestyle. Tools such as t-shirts, posters, etc... can be used to engage the school community. This is the interesting and open-ended goal of the project.

"Tell me, who wants to be surrounded by garbage?" -- Imelda Marcos
Oh - excuse me Mr.
Do you have the time,
Or are you so important that it stands still for you?
Excuse me Mr.
Want you lend me your ear,
Or are you not only blind but do you not hear?
Excuse me Mr. but isn't that your oil in the sea,
And the pollution in the air Mr.,
Whose could that be?
